PYBAR – a Thiess Company, is a mining services provider with core competencies in underground hard rock mining. With origins dating back to 1993, our success is based on safe, rapid underground development and consistent, reliable production. We deliver a range of projects, from large established mining operations to greenfield developments across Australia. The services we provide range from mine development, production, cable bolting and drilling, raise boring, shotcreting and fleet.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We currently have exciting opportunities for Mining Engineers across the business. These roles offer valuable contracting experience with an established underground mining contractor, providing an excellent pathway for career development in the underground sector. As a Mining Engineer at PYBAR, you will gain exposure to a wide range of PYBAR projects, maximise your learning potential, broaden your practical experience, and support your development.

We are seeking candidates who have graduated within the past three years, ideally with some underground exposure. If you require additional underground time toward your Manager’s Ticket, we can support and accommodate this as well.

By joining PYBAR, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a range of underground projects and learn from experienced teams in real site environments. As part of the broader Thiess Group, you’ll also have access to long-term career pathways, with the opportunity to develop your skills across both underground and open cut operations.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering completed within the last 3 years
• Experience in underground hard rock mining (Preferred)
• Hold a current Australian Drivers Licence
• Hold a current (<6 months) Nation Police Clearance – or be willing to obtain one
• A positive can-do attitude with the ability to work as part of a team
• A strong focus on safety
