ABOUT US

PYBAR – a Thiess Company, is a mining services provider with core competencies in metalliferous underground hard rock mining. With origins dating back to 1993, our success is based on safe, rapid underground infrastructure development and consistent, reliable production. We deliver a range of projects, from large established mining operations to greenfield developments across Australia. The services we provide range from mine development, production, cable bolting and drilling, raise boring, shotcreting and fleet haulage.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking motivated Mobile Heavy Diesel Plant apprentices to begin their apprenticeship and are eager to build a long-term career in underground mining. If you’re mechanically minded and looking to start your trade, PYBAR can give you the support, exposure, and hands-on experience you need to build strong foundations and grow your career.

This role is open to candidates based locally in the Orange (NSW) region. In this position, you’ll work across a diverse range of underground mining equipment, gaining hands-on experience alongside skilled tradespeople. You’ll have the opportunity to further develop your technical capabilities while contributing to the day-to-day operations of a well-established mining services provider.

Our apprentice program is designed to set you up for success with structured learning, on-the-job training, consistent mentoring, and the chance to work on a variety of equipment and projects. If you are committed, safety-focused, and keen to take the next step in your trade career, we want to hear from you.

By joining PYBAR, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a range of underground equipment and learn from experienced teams in real site environments. As part of the broader Thiess Group, you’ll also have access to long-term career pathways, with the opportunity to develop your skills across both underground and open cut operations.

These roles will be commencing in early 2027 to align with the TAFE requirements for the apprenticeship Training.
